Living Resources and Russell Sage College have announced a new partnership to deliver The College Experience, a campus-based residential program providing young adults with disabilities support, skills, confidence, internships, and work experiences, at Russell Sage College.

Since 2005, Living Resources partnered with The College of Saint Rose on the program, which has graduated 200 students to date. Russell Sage College will become the new home of the program starting in the summer after The College of Saint Rose announced it will be closing at the end of the academic year due to financial difficulties.

“After meeting with the leadership of Russell Sage College and learning more about their vision, values, and their commitment to providing supportive environments for all to learn, we know that bringing our College Experience Program to their campus is the right choice,” said Living Resources CEO Elizabeth Martin. “While saddened with the loss of The College of Saint Rose, we know that we have found a wonderful partner to continue to meet our mission and provide for our students’ success.”

Russell Sage President Christopher Ames said The College Experience Program is a perfect fit for Russell Sage.

“Russell Sage College is a community that believes strongly in creating a sense of inclusion and belonging for all of our students,” he said. “With respected programs in the field of education, having The College Experience join our community provides our students with an opportunity to engage with other young adults who are eager to be part of a college environment and learn and grow.”

The College Experience serves 55 students who live in 10 Albany-based houses/dorms owned by Living Resources. The students will take most of their classes on the Albany campus while using the college shuttles for additional experiences on Russell Sage’s Troy campus. This will allow the students to explore not only Albany but the city of Troy, taking advantage of the cultural enrichment both cities offer.
