At Russell Sage College, Academic Advising is an Essential Service and is a Form of Teaching.
The Office of Academic Advising assists undergraduate students and faculty advisors with understanding academic policies and procedures, registration timelines, degree requirements, and graduation planning. We also provide support to students who need help with Student Planning functions and exploring major programs and minors. (Graduate students work directly with their graduate program directors).
⬩ Each student is assigned a Faculty Advisor from their major department. Note: the faculty advisor (major) is the student’s primary academic advisor
⬩ Faculty Advisors assist students with educational planning, academic problem solving, and graduation requirements
⬩ Faculty Advisors recommend courses, experiences, and campus resources to help students achieve their goals
