A Russell Sage College faculty member and three students presented their original research at the Capital District Feminist Studies Consortium’s 2025 Conference on February 26 at Union College.

The annual conference is convened to advance interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration around feminist and gender studies.

Michelle Napierski-Prancl, professor of sociology and faculty director of Denise Taber Finard ’80 Women’s Institute at Russell Sage College, is the coordinator of the consortium. 

The following individuals presented research at the conference: 

— Associate Professor of Physical Therapy James Brennan presented “What Should Menstruating Adults Teach Young, Puberty age, Non-menstruating Persons about Menstruation?”

— Nicole Anzalone, a graduate student in RSC’s Mental Health Counseling and Community Psychology master’s program, presented  “The Impact of Social Camouflaging on Career Satisfaction in the Learning Disability Population.”

— Daniel Kagan, a Biology major, presented “Breaking the Silence: Women with Young Onset Parkinson’s Disease.”

— Hannah Voorhaar, a Sociology major, presented “Gun Safety is a Feminist Issue: Gender, Race, and Political Affiliation and Attitudes About Gun Policies.”
