UPDATE (as of 4:07 p.m. September 18): The water has been restored to the Troy campus.  All evening classes and campus activities will be held as scheduled.

As the water resumes, sinks, toilets, and showers will be functional.  You may notice discoloration or small debris in the water.  Please run the water until it is clear.

Please be advised that the City will be under a boil water advisory until further notice. You should only drink bottled water while the advisory remains in place. Bottled water can be obtained from the Public Safety office in the John Paine Building.

The following global announcement went to students and employees at 2:50 p.m. Monday, September 18. Please be alert for future updates as we learn more from the City of Troy:

RSC Community,

The RSC Troy campus is currently without water as a result of a major water main break in the Lansingburgh section of the City.  All buildings, including residence halls,  are without water at this time.

Please be aware of the following:

  • Don’t drink water from the tap.  Though there may be some water left in the lines, it may not be safe to drink at this time.
  • Limit flushing of toilets.  Do not flush liquid waste, only solid waste.
  • Please do not use showers until further notice.

We will provide an update as soon as we have additional information including when we expect service to resume.
