Sage Athletics logoThe Sage Colleges Athletics Department will add women’s and men’s indoor track and field teams in the 2020-2021 academic year.

David Taranto, head coach of Sage’s women’s and men’s cross-country teams, will also coach indoor track and field. “I am extremely excited for men’s and women’s indoor track here at Sage,” he said. “The cross-country programs have had great success academically and in our community and I am proud that our college is committed to their continued success on the track as well.”

“The addition of indoor track and field complements Sage’s growing Athletic Department,” said Director of Athletics Sandy Augstein-Collins. “Coach Taranto’s leadership of the cross-country programs has been outstanding and we look forward to the continued development of those programs with the addition of Indoor Track and Field.”

“The addition of indoor track and field will allow Sage’s running and field student-athletes to complete year-round in a competitive intercollegiate program,” said Vice President for Student Life Trish Cellemme.

With the addition of women’s and men’s indoor track and field teams, Sage will offer 19 varsity teams in the NCAA Division III Empire 8 conference.
