About Danielle Breen
As a Business Administration major at Sage, a supervisor at Dick’s sporting goods and a youth basketball coach, Danielle Breen is building a solid foundation for her desired career in sports marketing. She added to her resume when she was an intern at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association.
“The experience I have around sports helped me stand out as well as the fact that I juggle going to school full time and working full time,” she said. “They knew I would be a hard worker.”
At NYSPHSAA, Breen wrote for a variety of projects including the website and social media. “The biggest highlight for me was traveling around the state for the state championships and working the social media coverage for the tournaments.”
Breen said she chose Sage because she loved its small, supportive environment, and she chose a management major because it offered options to work in almost any field. When her lifelong love of sports inspired her to seek specific opportunities in sports marketing, Robert Stulmaker, who teaches Sport and Recreation Management at Sage, helped connect her with the opportunity at NYSPHSAA.
Breen is excited for her future. “Sage taught me the skills I need to succeed, and my internship gave me the real-life experience.”
