Presenters from Russell Sage College’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program shared collaborative faculty-student research at the American Physical Therapy Association Combined Sections Meeting in Anaheim, California, February 12-14, 2026.
Congratulations to the following faculty and doctoral candidates:
Associate Professor Rupali Singh, PT, Ph.D., presented a poster titled “Effectiveness of Low-Level Laser Therapy on Pain, Balance, and Gait in Painful Diabetic Neuropathy,” coauthored with DPT candidates Amy Stevens, Nathan Zalucky, Kathryn Stackrow, and Rachel Choppa.
Associate Professor and Chair Erin Elkins, DPT, and Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy and Director of Clinical Education Jennifer Aiossa, PT, DPT, DCE, delivered a platform presentation titled “Doctor of Physical Therapy Students’ Sense of Belonging: Insights for DPT Educational Programs,” coauthored with Assistant Professor Sarah Salvatore, PT, DPT, EdD, OCS, and Associate Professor Rupali Singh, PT, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor Cathron Donaldson, PT, DPT, MS, PCS, and DPT candidate Jacob Tambellini delivered a platform presentation titled “An Exploratory Study to Investigate Workplace Accommodations for Physical Therapists,” coauthored with DPT candidates Keagan Desjardins, Rebecca Roe, and Dalton Salamida.
Associate Professor Katrin L. Ramsey, PT, DSc, CLT, CAPP-OB, presented a poster titled, “Sleep Deficiency: A Modifiable Risk Factor That Negatively Impacts College Student Health and Wellbeing,” coauthored with DPT candidates Joshua Alvarez-Mapes, Genevieve Brites, Olivia Champitto, and Nicole Soutar.
APTA’s Combined Sections meeting is the largest physical therapy conference in the country. The annual conference attracts more than 15,000 participants and is a destination for the latest research, continuing education, and networking.
