Statewide Conference in Saratoga Springs

Twelve students in Sage’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program, along with their faculty mentors, presented research posters at the American Physical Therapy Association’s New York Conference in Saratoga Springs on October 6 and 7, 2023:

Olivia Jones, Stephanie Mason, Arthur Baker, and Omar Santiago-Rodriguez presented “Effect of Aquatic Therapy on Glycemic Control In Adults with Type 2 Diabetes: A Systematic Review.” Their research mentor is Rupali Singh, Ph.D., PT, associate professor.

Caitlyn Lopeck and Nick Darrow presented “Resistive Exercise and Breast Cancer-Related Lymphedema (BCRL): An Umbrella Review.” Their research mentor is Laurie Hepler, DPT, assistant professor. 

Breanne DeBarros, Sara O’Connor, and Mikayla Spiak presented “The Influence of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Doctor of Physical Therapy Student’s Clinical Education Experience.” Their research mentors are Erin Elkins, PT, DPT, Ed.D., associate professor, and Jennifer Aiossa, DPT, assistant professor.

Claire Connolly, Mackenna Jordan, and Cassandra Stier presented “The Physical Effects of Gender-Affirming Hormone Therapy: Implications for the Physical Therapist.” Their research mentors are Cathron Donaldson, DPT, assistant professor, and Katrin Ramsey, DSc, assistant professor.

National Educational Leadership Conference in Philadelphia

Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy Sarah Salvatore, DPT, will deliver a presentation at the American Physical Therapy Association’s Educational Leadership Conference in Philadelphia on October 14, 2023. The title of her platform presentation is “Doctor of Physical Therapy Programs’ Use of Noncognitive Factors in Admissions.”
