About Martha Wasserbauer

Martha received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from St. Lawrence University, a Master of Science in Nutrition Science from Syracuse University, and completed her dietetic internship at Cornell University. She began her career in outpatient pediatrics at Mountain View Pediatrics in Plattsburgh, NY where she developed a pilot nutrition program, and provided nutrition and breastfeeding counseling to families and children. Martha then transitioned to clinical nutrition at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, NY and became a Certified Nutrition Support Clinician. Her unit coverage included the cardiac ICU and step down, NICU, and outpatient nutrition office and she was responsible for training and mentoring her colleagues in parenteral nutrition. Her primary research interests include molecular nutrition, biochemistry and nutrition support. Martha has held leadership positions with the Hudson Valley Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and currently serves as the President for 2022-2023.
