About Nyla Brotherson

Criminal Justice, Law & Behavioral Science graduate Nyla Brotherson ’22 recently started her new job as assistant director of Eleanor’s Legacy.

She is responsible for operations at the organization, which helps recruit, train and support pro-choice women to run for state and local office in New York.

“My degree helped me learn the legal and legislative process,” said Nyla. “Sage helped me because of my advisement team and the internship experience I gained throughout the four years that I attended. It was because of the various internships I had while at Russell Sage that I was recommended for my new position and received an offer upon my graduation.”

Nyla also has great advice for current students: “Intern at organizations to help build professional relationships that will ultimately help with your job search,” she said.

”Utilize LinkedIn! It helps to serve as a professional network to broaden your search and form connections. Lastly, remember there’s not a specific route you should be on post grad, always go at your own pace.”
