Russell Sage College has worked with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to offer Commonwealth employees and their dependents a 10% tuition discount on six of its graduate programs, including its online M.S. in Criminal Justice and Community Corrections, the first program of its kind in the nation.

Russell Sage is the first out-of-state institution to offer Commonwealth employees and their dependents this educational benefit. The effort was born out of faculty at Russell Sage who have worked with the Commonwealth on community corrections training in the past.

“We’re honored to work with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to offer this benefit to Commonwealth employees and their dependents,” said Russell Sage President Matthew Shaftel. “We believe the online M.S. in Criminal Justice and Community Corrections is groundbreaking and responsive to shifting needs in the field, and we’re pleased to extend the tuition discount to our other affordable and practical online and Flex master’s programs.”

To provide the most benefit to Commonwealth employees, the agreement was expanded to cover Russell Sage’s online programs in Mental Health Counseling and Community Psychology and Applied Nutrition, and Flex format programs in Business Administration (MBA), Organization Management, and Health Services Administration. Russell Sage’s unique Flex format allows students to take classes in-person, via livestream, or online on their own time, without having to lock into one format.

“By making higher education more affordable for our employees and their families, we are strengthening and empowering the workforce that serves all Pennsylvanians and cultivating the next generation of public servants and leaders,” said Pennsylvania’s Secretary of Administration Neil Weaver. “Tuition benefits help us attract high-caliber talent and support their development and growth.
