Computer Classrooms and Labs
Computing facilities are available on both the Albany and Troy campuses. The Academic Computing Centers offer several computer-based classrooms as well as open labs which can be utilized by students on a walk-in basis. Faculty can reserve a lab for classroom use by contacting the registrars' office: Albany campus: 292-1781, Troy campus: 244-2427
Students may utilize computing services on either campus. The Academic Computing Centers, Libraries and Residence Halls are networked, making it possible for students to access their personal files from any networked location.
The computer labs and classrooms include the following software: Windows XP with service pack 2, Office 2003, MS Outlook, MS FrontPage, MS Image Composer, VisualBasic, Host Access, PowerZip, Netscape Communicator, MS Internet Explorer, SYSAT, MS and MS Visual Studio.
Other locations have access to specialized packages used by certain academic programs: SPSS, Adobe PageMaker, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Quark XPress, Mathematica and others.
Albany
The Academic Computing Center is located on the second floor of Froman Hall. It includes four PC-based computer classrooms and open lab area. Two Graphics Labs, located in the Graphic Design Building, house Macintosh computers and the latest graphics software.
Additional workstations are available in the libraries, for access to electronic card catalogs and databases, and in the Academic Support Center and Science Building.

Troy
The Academic Computing Center in the basement of the Education Building includes two PC computer classrooms and an open lab area. Down the hall, the Math and Computer Science Division hosts an additional PC-based classroom/lab.
Additional workstations are located in Ricketts Hall, Science Hall. Ackerman Hall, Carriage House and other locations to support individual program needs. The library offers access to electronic catalogs and databases.
