MS in Occupational Therapy Program Admission Requirements

There are two points of entry to the M.S. in Occupational Therapy Program — direct entry through the graduate program for applicants who already have a bachelor’s degree, or through Russell Sage College’s accelerated 3+2 program or traditional 4+2 program for applicants who do not have a bachelor’s degree.

Direct Entry for Graduate Students

Prerequisites

Applicants to Russell Sage College’s  Occupational Therapy graduate program should have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.25, and should have completed the following courses:

  • Anatomy & Physiology I and II (with labs)
    Please note that a 3.0 average in Anatomy & Physiology I and II is required for admission.
  • Introduction to Psychology (General Psychology)
  • Human Development (Lifespan Development)
  • Abnormal Psychology
  • Statistics
  • 3 credits of Sociology or Anthropology
  • Physics I and Medical Terminology are recommended

Admission Materials

Please apply by February 1 and include the following materials with your RSC graduate school application:

  • Official transcripts from all the post-secondary institutions you attended
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • A 1-2 page essay describing your career goals
  • A resume
  • Documentation of 20 hours of clinical observation under the supervision of an occupational therapist
  • Occupational Therapy Supplemental Forms

You may be eligible for preferred acceptance if you are applying to Russell Sage College’s  Occupational Therapy graduate program directly from an undergraduate college with which we have an articulation agreement.
