This Introduction to Communication Sciences and Disorders online course for high school students shows you the field of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) and the work of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists, explaining how experts support individuals with unique communication needs. 

You’ll explore:

  • How communication differences impact people at every stage of life – from kids to seniors
  • How we understand speech, language, and hearing differences
  • The various types of communication disorders and differences
  • Career fields in this area, including Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology

Meet your instructor:

Jackie Klein is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and owner of a pediatric private practice. She has broad experience, including schools, acute care, and skilled nursing facilities, and she’s a member of the cleft and craniofacial team at Albany Medical Center.
