Commencement 2025 – May 17, 2025 at 10:30 a.m.
Russell Sage College celebrated our 108th Commencement on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at MVP Arena in Albany. More than 550 graduates from August 2024, December 2024, May 2025, and anticipated August 2025 and December 2025 graduates who had been approved to “walk” at commencement joined the celebration. The MVP Arena was filled with thousands of supporters and loved ones.
The Student Life Office sent out email invitations to the commencement ceremony with pertinent information and a request to RSVP to all eligible graduates and participants on February 28, 2025. Guests do not need to RSVP, but ALL invited graduates were asked to confirm their plans to participate in the ceremony or not by April 1. Those who did not RSVP by May 1 were removed from the commencement procession. Graduates whose plans have changed can notify the Dean of Students’ office at 518-244-2207 or [email protected].
Graduates and guests were able to access essential information in the 2025 Russell Sage College Commencement Guide, which had also been emailed to graduates.
The commencement ceremony was streamed live online on May 17th. You can view the recording on Sage’s YouTube channel linked below.
Russell Sage College was excited to welcome back Lucas Aurelio, alumnus of the Class of 2018 and rising star in television and film, as the speaker at this year’s commencement ceremony. He also received an honorary doctoral degree from Russell Sage during the celebration.

Archived Webcasts
Our May 2021 graduation celebrations honored Sage graduates from August 2019/2020, December 2019/2020, and May 2020/2021. Sage hosted small, outdoor, on-campus gatherings for graduates and up to 2 guests on Tuesday, May 11 and Wednesday May 12.
