The graduate programs in Psychology in the School of Health Sciences at Russell Sage College prepare students for work as mental health counselors and community-based change agents. The programs have been designed for students who have made a commitment to advance social justice, to promote the well-being of individuals, families and groups with varying cultural traditions, and to develop change strategies to address social issues in diverse communities through the application of psychological principles, research and methods.

Accreditation

The M.A. in Counseling and Community Psychology program is accredited by the Master’s in Psychology and Counseling Accreditation Council (MPCAC) for the period November 2020 through November of 2028. Graduates are eligible to take the NYS licensing exam for the LMHC license.
