About The Sage Colleges
The more than 3,000 students at The Sage Colleges pursue bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees on campuses in Troy and Albany, NY, as well as online. In each location, students participate in an environment that offers varied interdisciplinary academics, opportunities for community engagement, options to study abroad, and a range of artistic and athletic endeavors. Programs are available at the coeducational Sage College of Albany in New York's capital city; the historic Russell Sage College for women in Troy; the graduate-level Esteves School of Education, School of Health Sciences, and School of Management, which operate on both campuses; and online through Sage Online.

[Interdisciplinary Learning Triptych]
Interdisciplinary academic programs capitalize on the range of expertise of Sage faculty and build nimble thinkers who adapt quickly in a changing job market. Regardless of students' majors, they study a cross-section of subjects, because, as Sarolta Takács, Dean of Sage College of Albany (pictured leading the group discussion), states, "The world is interdisciplinary. Nobody can afford to do just one thing anymore."
[Community Engagement Triptych]
Sage students balance classroom lessons with community engagement, via extracurricular service projects, academic service learning, work-study positions in local non-profits and more. Such community partnerships create additional learning opportunities, build bonds among classmates while extending students' professional networks and bring students' fresh perspectives to bear on diverse challenges in our communities.
[World Engagement Triptych]
Extensive study abroad options, a vibrant community of international students, and academic and co-curricular programming that celebrates global diversity enhance formal partnerships with the Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade, Mahidol University in Thailand and the Initiative to Educate Afghan Women and integrate global and cultural awareness into life at Sage.
The Arts at Sage
Academic inquiry and artistic expression find synergy at Sage. Performances and exhibits are often linked thematically to the curriculum, creating a culturally-rich learning experience for all students – aspiring arts practitioners and emerging arts patrons alike. Sage's arts resources enrich campus and the community at large. The Theatre Institute at Sage provides arts-in-education programming to area youth and The Opalka Gallery has attracted prestigious visual exhibitions to the area.
Athletics are an important part of the college experience for many students, and Sage has invested significantly in this area over the last several years. The Athletics Department now hosts 12 varsity teams and competes in the NCAA Division III Skyline Conference. The Recreation and Fitness Department sponsors intramural sports and maintains fitness facilities for students who prefer to compete at the club level or pursue fitness goals as individuals.
