Nursing at Russell Sage
For more than 100 years, Russell Sage College has been a leader in the field of nursing. With bachelor’s, master’s, and certificate programs, we support the development of nurses throughout their careers.
Our Nursing Programs
Russell Sage offers a variety of educational opportunities for both future and current RNs.
9 Reasons to Study Nursing at Russell Sage
- Our reputation:
With 6,000 nursing graduates, Russell Sage College is synonymous with compassionate and skilled nurses and nursing leaders.
- It’s personal:
Our classes range from classes of 25 to 40 students giving faculty a chance to work individually with each student.
- Clinical and employer connections:
We have clinical partnerships with more than 300 health care organizations and providers and a longstanding and deep relationship with Albany Medical Center, including employee discounts on tuition. We have similar tuition discounts with other health care organizations through our RSC Health Alliance.
- Faculty experience:
Faculty are certified nurse practitioners, certified nurse educators, midwives, doctorally-prepared expert clinicians, administrators, and researchers with years of experience. They do research and volunteer with community organizations, with a focus on evidence-based practice.
- Convenient format:
Our M.S. in Nursing program is online with one course and clinicals having the only in-person requirements. And because of our extensive clinical partner network, we can often arrange for clinical experiences close to home.
- High-tech facilities:
We have four simulation labs on our Troy campus, including an eight-bed simulation lab that looks like a patient floor in a hospital. The manikins are equipped with the latest technology to give students real-world experience before working with live patients.
- A chance to build healthier communities:
Our motto of “Be. Know. Do.” means we expect students – and later our graduates – to help improve the lives of those around them. Service learning in the community is a critical part of what we do, from taking our Nurse Practitioner students to the Dominican Republic to work on women’s health to the more than 20 experiences our undergraduate students get in community health projects.
- We’ve got cred:
The baccalaureate degree program in nursing, master’s degree program in nursing, and post-graduate APRN certificate programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. That’s how you know our program meets high standards for the profession. Our Bachelor of Science in Nursing has also been ranked among national universities by U.S. News & World Report.
- Affordability:
Our programs are competitively priced with other institutions, and we offer scholarship opportunities, graduate assistantships, and employer discounts.
Health Alliance Agreement
The vast majority of our graduate level Nursing students are members of our Health Alliance Agreement. As a member of our Health Alliance, you will receive a 10% discount on tuition and referred tuition payments. If you are currently working in the hospital setting chances are that you qualify for our program.
Albany Medical Center Hospital
Masters level nursing students employed by Albany Medical Center’s hospital can receive a 30% discount on tuition.
Accreditation
The baccalaureate degree program in nursing/master’s degree program in nursing and post-graduate APRN certificate programs at Russell Sage College are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
All nursing programs are registered with the New York State Education Department.
